Dr. Behrens holds a degree in physics from Technische Universität München (TUM).
He received a Ph.D. from TUM for research work in experimental nuclear physics. He focused in particular on the setup and implementation of semiconductor detectors, the experimental data acquisition and the development of data analysis software. He also participated in an international research collaboration conducting accelerator experiments at CERN in Geneva (Switzerland). He gave numerous talks on the results of his research work at international conferences and workshops.
Dr. Behrens qualified as a German Patent Attorney in 2015, after he was trained at Samson & Partner, the German Patent and Trademark Office, and the German Federal Patent Court and after he finished his studies in general law at the University of Hagen.
His main fields of technical expertise in intellectual property rights are medical technology, information and communication technology as well as applied physics, mechanics and optics.
